Polat Makina Enters 2024 with Ambition, Driven by Its "Agile Transformation" Vision and Strategies

Representing Turkey across 44 countries worldwide through its locally manufactured advanced technology, Polat Makina brought together its employees from Turkey and abroad at its annual strategy meeting centered around the theme of “Agile Transformation.” During the event, company executives presented Polat Makina’s 2024 targets, alongside the new corporate vision and strategic roadmap built on Agile Transformation, detailing the key steps taken toward achieving these goals.

Founded in Aydın in 1978 and today operating across 44 countries with 13 group companies and 19 dealerships and distributorships, Polat Makina shared its new corporate vision and strategies with its employees at the annual strategy meeting themed “Agile Transformation,” held in Kuşadası on February 16–17, to elevate its success in 2024. Following the opening address by Volkan Polat, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Polat Makina, Chairman of the Board Olcay Polat, General Manager Mutlu Şahan, and executives from various business units delivered presentations detailing the company’s new-term objectives and ongoing innovations. Through its digital and operational transformation projects, Polat Makina aims to achieve a significantly more efficient and competitive market position in 2024 while driving customer satisfaction to even higher levels.

Volkan Polat, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Polat Makina, emphasized that alongside its offices in Istanbul and Aydın, as well as in Italy, Greece, and Morocco, Polat Makina—today a global brand—aims to deliver products and services at universal quality standards backed by its skilled workforce and technological infrastructure. Polat stated: “Starting our journey in 1978 in a workshop of just 4.5 square meters, reaching this milestone in a relatively short period of 45 years alongside young, valuable talents like you gives us immense pride. As the Polat Makina team, we are starting 2024 fully prepared and motivated through the new steps we have taken. In an increasingly demanding competitive landscape, achieving market success and meeting our targets undoubtedly hinges on agility. Our company’s new vision, ‘Agile Transformation,’ reflects our new philosophy that views speed as the primary prerequisite for growth and success in every business discipline. In this new competitive environment, we can only succeed by acting with agility, remaining open and dynamic toward innovations, flexibly adapting to market conditions and changes even under the most challenging circumstances, and continuously reviewing and swiftly adjusting our strategies when necessary. Achieving this begins, above all, with strong and harmonious teamwork. As we advance toward our targets for this year, the support of our esteemed colleagues will be our greatest asset. I firmly believe that by working shoulder to shoulder in 2024 in line with our new vision and core principles, we will reach our major targets in very short order.”

Mutlu Şahan, General Manager of Polat Makina, added: “The new factory we moved into at the beginning of 2024 is not merely a new facility for us. This building represents Polat Makina’s new vision and philosophy of keeping pace with the modern era. In line with this vision, we have accelerated our digital transformation initiatives, which are indispensable for maintaining high competitiveness today. We are taking critical steps on this path through the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), which enhances efficiency by bringing end-to-end traceability and manageability to production processes; our real-time data monitoring facility named the Cockpit; and the Digital Twin Project, which allows us to track the factory real-time and monitor all plant operations via Andon systems inside the Cockpit. Furthermore, in the scroll production line—a key pillar of our operational transformation project—we have reduced the total travel distance of the scroll during manufacturing from 2.5 kilometers down to 250 meters. Through these process optimizations, we are shortening production lead times from 66 days to just 6 days.”

Stating that Polat Makina will also strengthen inter-departmental communication to become a more agile organization in this new period, Şahan concluded: “Through Polat Academy, a cornerstone of our operational transformation, we will raise employee capability and productivity. To maximize customer satisfaction in after-sales support, we have also restructured our former after-sales service division—previously known as SSH—under the new brand identity of Polat Technic, reinforcing it with more agile service workflows.”
